In the years 1966-1971, 17 pieces of AC powered "Pantographs" of the 560 series were produced at the Vagónka Studénka plant. They were intended for suburban transport in Brno and Trnava. The designers drew on their experience with the EM 475.0 and EM 475.1 units of the "Žabotlam", but the Pantographs were not as advanced compared to them. They ceased regular service in 2022 and 2014 (Slovakia) respectively.
There were 43 of the 460 series DC units produced in the 1970s, which earned the nickname "Tornado" for their distinctive sound. They were assigned to depots in Ostrava, Ústí nad Labem and Košice, and later appeared in Bohumín and Olomouc.
With the delivery of new electric units, the need for Tornados is decreasing and the end of their regular service is imminent.
